Labourer - Paignton

We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and physically fit General Labourer to join our team on a Screwfix project.

This is a hands-on labouring role where you will be supporting the site team and tradesmen with a variety of general labouring duties. The work will involve moving materials and equipment, keeping working areas clean and organised, assisting tradesmen and helping with the day-to-day requirements of the project.

The successful candidate will need to be someone who is not afraid of hard work and is willing to get stuck in. You will be working as part of a busy team, so a good attitude, the ability to follow instructions and a strong awareness of safety are essential.

There may also be asbestos-related work involved on the project. Previous asbestos experience or awareness would be an advantage, but guidance can be provided to the right person. You must be comfortable following instructions and site procedures carefully when carrying out this type of work.

We are looking for someone who is punctual, dependable and takes pride in their work. The ideal candidate will turn up on time, work hard throughout the day and be someone the site team can rely on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out general labouring duties on the Screwfix project
  • Moving and handling materials and equipment
  • Assisting tradesmen and other members of the site team
  • Loading, unloading and organising materials
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
  • Assisting with site preparation and clear-up
  • Supporting the team with general duties as required
  • Assisting with asbestos-related tasks where required and following all guidance provided
  • Following site health & safety procedures at all times
  • Carrying out any other reasonable labouring duties

Requirements

MUST HAVE:

  • Valid CSCS Card
  • MUST have Asbestos awareness (can be guided)
  • Previous labouring or construction experience
  • Physically fit and capable of manual work
  • Hard-working and willing to get stuck in
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Good attitude and strong work ethic
  • Able to follow instructions carefully
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Good awareness of health & safety
